Milan has become a popular destination for tourists from all over the world: no longer only a city for business, it has become a future-oriented metropolis, but it has preserved the fascination of its past intact. The itineraries we propose to you in this section are only a few of the tour options the city offers.

You can personalise your itinerary for groups, single visitors, families, and companies in the languages you wish, according to your interests and to the time you have. Neighbourhoods, buildings, churches, museums, exhibitions, shops… Remember however that for some sites it is necessary to make reservations well in advance.

THE CLASSIC TOUR

In this itinerary, which lasts about three hours, it is possible to visit the most representative monuments of the city: the Duomo (our cathedral), the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the La Scala theatre, and the Sforza Castle. This walking tour takes us to the symbolic places of Lombardy’s capital: art, history and tradition, without leaving out the sparkle of the shop windows and the atmosphere of the historic cafes and restaurants in the centre.

MILAN IN A DAY

Devote half a day to visit the historic centre (see the Classic Tour) and then add, to the essential sites and monuments, other places which deserve an in-depth explanation given by an expert local guide. Among these there are: the Romanesque Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio; the Magenta area with the Bramantesque church of Santa Maria delle Grazie and Leonardo da Vinci’s "The Last Supper";the Monumental Cemetery, a true open-air sculpture museum, and the renewed Darsena with the fascinating Navigli (historic canals). These are only a few of the treasures of Milan, a city which is well worth discovering.

THE PORTA NUOVA AND CITYLIFE DISTRICTS

The area of the Porta Nuova district, which has been transformed by one of the most radical redevelopment projects in Europe, has become a new hub for nightlife, shopping and culture.

We can cite the most significant buildings of Porta Nuova and their “starchitect” authors: the Palazzo Lombardia by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, the Bosco Verticale by Stefano Boeri, and the Unicredit Tower by César Pelli, which is the tallest building in Italy at its 231 metres. These and other buildings make up a small but striking cluster.

The new skyscrapers, thanks both to their use and to their exceptional structures, have asserted themselves as the symbols of a city undergoing constant change and of a true metropolis. Complete your tour with a walk between the “Twisted One”, the "Curved One" and the " Straight One", the skyscrapers of the CityLife district.

MILAN: MUSEUMS AND EXHIBITIONS

The Milanese museums hold priceless treasures, which have become symbols for the whole world, such as Mantegna’s Lamentation over the Dead Christ at the Pinacoteca di Brera, Caravaggio’s Basket of Fruit at the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, or Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini at the Sforza Castle. Large and small museums which are, also due to the architecture of the buildings which house them, true attractions. In addition to the museums there are numerous temporary exhibitions which attract hundreds of visitors in Milan every year.

This itinerary is dedicated to the Italian excellences and to the brands that originated in Milan. It will be possible to access workshops, take a break in historic or specialised shops to taste gourmet products, see original furniture or objects which testify to the creativity of our designers. Some parts of the city are especially apt for these tours, such as the Brera or Corso Venezia districts, the famous Via Montenapoleone fashion district, and the Tortona and Isola districts, which have undergone urban regeneration and have become key spots of the “Fuori Salone” circuit during the Salone del Mobile (Milan Furniture Fair).
